He 219 A-074, W.Nr. 190188, BE+JA. One of the original testing He 219s later sent to 3./NJG 1 and used on Venlo airbase with fuselage code G9+BL. The commander of I./NJG 1 Hptm. Paul Förster and R/O Fw. Böhmer were photographed with this plane in the background and they probably used this plane in action. This He 219 was shot down in the night from June 3 to 4, 1944 during testing mission by RAF No. 219 Squadron Mosquito ( P/O D.T. Tull and P/O P.J. Cowgill ) near Wilhelminsdorp. The pilot Hptm. Heinz Eicke was succesfully catapulted and survived, the R/O Ofw. Heinz Gall was KiA.
